We understand that you may need to update the email address associated with your Emporia account from time to time. While we don’t currently offer a direct way to change your email address, you can accomplish this using the Device Sharing feature in a few simple steps. Additionally, this approach can be helpful for users transitioning from Google Sign-In to an email/password login for seamless account management.
Account Transition Scenarios
Create a New Emporia Account
Download and log into the Emporia app.
Create a new Emporia account using your preferred email address (or use Google/Apple sign-up options).
You might need to log out of your current account by selecting the menu bars, account, and sign out.
Share Devices from Your Old Account
Log in to your existing account that has your device(s) associated with it.
Follow the instructions in our Device Sharing Guide to share your devices with the new account.
Once shared, you’ll be able to view and manage all your devices from the new account. 4. Switch from Google Sign-In to Email/Password Login
If you created your account using Google Sign-In and wish to switch to an email/password, create a new account using the same email address.
Account data and devices may automatically transfer if the email matches. Otherwise, share devices manually as explained in step 2.
Delete Your Old Account (Optional)
Once everything is set up on your new account, you can delete your old account if desired.
This method ensures a seamless transition, with all your devices, settings, and energy data remaining intact.
Troubleshooting
Devices Not Visible in the New Account
Ensure the same email address is used for the new account.
Manually share devices as detailed in step 2 if necessary.
Can’t Delete Original Account
Contact Emporia Energy’s support team for assistance or continue using Google Sign-In if deletion is unnecessary.
