Learn how to share device access with others while maintaining account security and collaboration.

The Device Sharing feature allows multiple Emporia accounts to access and manage the same devices. This is perfect for family members or other users who want their own accounts while maintaining full access to shared devices.

How to Share Devices

  1. Update Your App

    • Ensure you’re using an up-to-date version of the Emporia Energy app (version 3.3.0.4761 or later).

  2. Access the Sharing Feature

    • Tap the Menu (☰) in the top-left corner of the app.

    • Navigate to Manage Devices.

    • Select Share Devices.

  3. Invite Users to Share Devices

    • Enter the email address of the person you want to invite.

    • Choose the device(s) you’d like to share with them.

    • Tap Share at the bottom of the app.

Important Notes

  • Equal Permissions for All Users
    Currently, all users with shared access have the same permissions. We plan to introduce account-specific permissions in the future. If this feature is important to you, we encourage you to submit a request via the Customer Support team.

  • Manage Access Easily
    If needed, you can modify or revoke access to shared devices at any time through the Manage Devices menu.
