The Vue Utility Connect has two LED indicators on the front of the device β one for Wi-Fi and one for Smart Meter Link. This article shows what each LED state means and points you to the right next step if either light isn't where it should be.
Wi-Fi LED
Light Status | Condition |
Off | Has not connected to the router |
On solid | Connected to the router and Emporia |
Blinking once per second | Establishing a connection to Emporia |
Blinking every two seconds | Lost connection to the router |
If the Wi-Fi LED is off entirely, blinking on a 2-second cycle, or stuck in the "establishing" state for more than a few minutes, see Vue Utility Connect Won't Connect to Wi-Fi or Power.
Smart Meter Link LED
Light Status | Condition |
Off | Has not connected to the meter |
On solid | Connected to the meter and receiving data |
Blinking every two seconds | No data from the meter in over 1 minute |
If the Smart Meter Link LED is off or blinking, see Vue Utility Connect Lost Connection to Smart Meter for the recovery steps.
Healthy State
In normal operation, both LEDs should be solid:
Wi-Fi LED: solid (connected to router and Emporia cloud).
Smart Meter Link LED: solid (connected to meter and receiving data).
If both lights are solid and you're still seeing 0.00 readings in the Emporia Energy app, see Vue Utility Connect Lost Connection to Smart Meter β that article covers the case where the LED looks healthy but data isn't flowing.
