The Vue: Gen 2 has two LED indicators on the front of the device — one for power and one for Wi-Fi. This article covers what each LED means and what to do if you see something unexpected.
Power LED
Light Status | Condition |
Off | Not connected to power |
Solid green | Connected to power |
Off — Not connected to power. Check the wire harness in the panel and confirm the breaker the harness is on hasn't tripped.
Solid green — Connected to power. This is the healthy state.
Wi-Fi LED
Light Status | Condition |
Solid green | Connected to internet |
Flashing green | Lost connection to internet |
Solid green — Connected to the internet and reporting to the Emporia cloud. This is the healthy state.
Flashing green — Lost internet connection. The Vue is trying to reconnect or has fallen off the network.
What to Do If the LED Isn't Solid
Power LED off — the Vue isn't getting power. Verify the wire harness is wired correctly and the breaker the harness lands on is on. See Wire Harness Installation Issues.
Wi-Fi LED flashing green — the Vue can't reach the internet. Most cases self-recover within an hour. If it doesn't, walk through the network checks in Vue Not Connecting: Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Troubleshooting.
A Note on Gen 2
The Vue: Gen 2 is no longer sold but is still fully supported. It uses the same Emporia Energy app, the same cloud, and the same offline-buffering behavior as the Gen 3. The LED indicators are simpler than Gen 3 because the Gen 2 doesn't support wired Ethernet — Wi-Fi is the only network option.
