Getting Started with Your Emporia Account

Access and manage your energy data from anywhere with your Emporia account.

An Emporia account gives you secure access to your energy monitoring devices and data from anywhere in the world. Whether at home or away, you can monitor energy usage, control smart devices, and track consumption through Emporia's cloud-based platform. This guide covers platform options, account creation methods, and verification troubleshooting.


Available Platforms

Emporia Energy provides multiple ways to access your account and manage your energy data.

Mobile Apps

Download the Emporia Energy app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store for full access to all features.

  • Required for Device Onboarding – The onboarding process uses Bluetooth to communicate with your devices, which is only available through mobile apps

  • Complete Feature Access – Monitor live energy usage, configure settings, and control all connected devices

Web Application

Access your account through any supported desktop browser at web.emporiaenergy.com

  • View Energy Data – Monitor usage, costs, and trends from your computer

  • Control Devices – Manage device settings and configurations

  • Account Settings – Update preferences and account information

Note: The web application cannot be used to onboard new devices due to Bluetooth requirements. All device setup must be completed through the mobile app.


Creating Your Emporia Account

Emporia offers two convenient methods to create your account. Choose the option that works best for you.

Sign Up with Email and Password

Create an account directly with Emporia using your email address and a custom password. Follow these steps:

  1. Download the Emporia Energy app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store

  2. Open the app and tap Sign Up

  3. Select Sign Up with Email

  4. Enter your email address and create a password

  5. Agree to the Terms of Service

  6. Tap Create Account

  7. Check your email for a 6-digit verification code

  8. Enter the verification code in the app to complete setup

Email Preferences: You can opt out of promotional emails from Emporia at any time using the unsubscribe link included in our marketing emails.

Sign Up with Google or Apple ID

Use your existing Google or Apple credentials for faster account creation and simplified sign-in. Follow these steps:

  1. Download the Emporia Energy app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store

  2. Open the app and tap Sign Up

  3. Select Sign with Google or Sign in with Apple

  4. Follow the prompts to authorize Emporia Energy access

  5. Agree to the Terms of Service

Important Considerations:

  • Password Management – Password resets for accounts created with Google or Apple are handled through those providers, not through the Emporia app

  • Apple ID Private Relay – If using "Hide My Email," ensure you have access to the relay inbox or enable email forwarding to receive important messages like CSV data exports


Verification Code Troubleshooting

If you don't receive your 6-digit verification code when signing up with email, try these troubleshooting steps.

Check Your Spam or Junk Folder

Verification emails can sometimes be filtered by email providers. Check your spam, junk, or promotions folders for an email from Emporia Energy. If you find it there, mark it as "Not Spam" to ensure future emails arrive in your inbox.

Resend the Verification Code

If the email doesn't appear after a few minutes, request a new code by following these steps:

  1. Return to the verification screen in the app

  2. Tap Resend Code

  3. Wait 2–3 minutes for the new code to arrive

  4. Check both your inbox and spam folders

Verify Your Email Address

Double-check that you entered your email address correctly during sign-up. A typo in your email address will prevent the code from reaching you. If you suspect an error, return to the sign-up screen and start over with the correct email address.

Apple ID Private Relay Users

If you signed up with an Apple ID and selected "Hide My Email," you'll receive a private relay email address. Verification emails are sent to this relay address, which then forwards to your real inbox.

  • Ensure you have access to the relay email address

  • Confirm email forwarding is enabled in your Apple ID settings

  • Check for emails in your primary Apple email inbox

Email Provider Settings

Some email providers have strict spam filters that may block automated emails.

  • Confirm that Emporia Energy emails are not being blocked

  • Add Emporia to your safe sender list

  • Check that security settings allow automated verification emails to be delivered

Wait and Try Again

Email delivery can occasionally be delayed due to server traffic or temporary provider issues. Wait 5–10 minutes and check your email again before requesting a new code.
