One common topic we run into on the Customer Support team is about where/how the EV Charger can be installed in relation to its physical position/orientation. Our Installation Guides recommend that the EV Charger be mounted ~24"-48" off the ground - but overall the requirements are fairly flexible as to exactly how it can be mounted. Biggest concern is making sure the EV Charger is off the ground in case of any flooding that may occur, but other than that you're pretty free to install it however needed.
1.) Higher/lower than the 24"-48" recommendation? Higher is totally fine, wouldn't go too much lower than 24" just to make sure its well elevated in case of any flooding concerns.
2.) Can I mount the EV Charger upside-down? Yes, however its watertight design assumes proper vertical orientation. If installing upside-down, important to make sure no water/moisture will be collecting on the EV Charger.
3.) Can I mount it sideways? Yes, similar to above.
4.) Indoors/Outdoors? Yes, details covered here.
5.) On the ceiling? Yes.
Any qualified electrician will also be able to help find an appropriate mounting location for the EV Charger as needed.
