The 50A CT sensors will function without the need for the 200A CT sensors. The 200A CT sensors are only necessary if you wish to monitor the total system usage captured from the main lines. If your primary focus is on the branch circuit usage within the panel, you can just ignore the 200A sensors without any issues.
For effective energy monitoring without main CT sensors, you can focus on tracking individual circuit breakers using the 50A CT sensors. This setup provides accurate data on individual circuit usage while also offering valuable insights into your energy consumption patterns.
When the 200A CT sensors are not connected, a minor modification will be made to the Home screen within the app. Specifically, since the main lines are not being monitored, the Total Usage displayed will be the aggregated sum of the measured 50A CT sensors. Additionally, the percentages for each circuit will be calculated based on this summed Total Usage amount.
This approach ensures that even without main CT sensors, your monitoring system remains effective and provides essential data for understanding your home's energy use.

Alternative Solutions for Installation Challenges
If space in your electric panel is limited and it's challenging to install the 200A Main CT Clasps, consider using Flex Sensors. These sensors are specifically designed for tight spaces and can effectively monitor your main service cables. However, please ensure that you have sufficient space elsewhere in your panel for the Flex Sensor's small power unit. In cases where the 200A Main CT sensors cannot fully close around the busbars in your electrical panel, you have two options:
Use FLEX Sensors: These heavy-duty sensors are designed for challenging setups, though they require additional space and are typically priced higher.
Monitor Circuit Breakers Only: Leave the main service lines unmonitored and focus on using the 50A CT sensors for monitoring individual circuits. This approach can still provide useful energy data for your home.
