Installer access in ARC

Invite Installers, grant them device access, and sign in.

Installers add devices to your organization and work on the devices they have access to. Two settings control this:

  • Installer role: set on the organization. Lets a member add devices.

  • Installer access: set per device. Lets a member manage that device.

Inviting an Installer doesn't give them access to devices already in your organization. Admins grant access per device or in bulk from Devices. Only Admins can invite members and grant or revoke device access.

Invite an Installer (Admins)

  1. Open the gear menu, then Organization > Members. On a phone: Menu > Organization.

  2. Select Invite User.

  3. Enter their email and set Role to Installer. There's no default role, and Invite stays off until you pick one.

  4. Optional: first name, last name, title, organization.

  5. Select Invite.

Only Admins see the Members tab.

Note: They get an email with a temporary password. There's no resend button, so check the address before you select Invite.

Grant Device Access (Admins)

  1. Open the device from Devices and stay on the Overview tab.

  2. Under Direct device access, select Grant access.

  3. Pick an Access level:

    • Installer: manage the device, including controls, schedules, settings, customer information, and DERMS program enrollment and dispatch when allowed.

    • Read: read-only access to the device's energy data, customer information, and settings.

  4. Tick one or more members. Search by name or email if needed.

  5. Select Grant 1 member (or Grant N members).

Utility Connect: Until it connects to the cloud, it shows "Direct access can be shared once this device is onboarded." and Grant access is off. Try again once it's installed and connected. Bulk changes skip it.

Who's listed:

  • Installer access: only members with the Installer role

  • Read access: any member

  • Never listed: you, or a member who already has that access level on the device

No one listed? Check that the member has the Installer role (needed for Installer access) and doesn't already have that access level.

Grant failed? ARC shows how many worked and keeps the rest ticked. Select grant again to retry. Still failing?

  1. Reload the page to check the device's current access.

  2. Open the gear menu, then Help & Support. On a phone: Menu > Help & support.

  3. Email or call support from the Contact Support card, or select Leave Feedback.

To remove access:

  1. Select Revoke next to the member.

  2. In the Revoke device access dialog, select Revoke Installer access or Revoke Read access.

Only that access is removed, right away. The member stays in your organization.

Note: Deleting a member from the organization removes all their direct device access. Access from an organization role, such as Admin, isn't listed under Direct device access.

Manage Access in Bulk (Admins)

  1. In Devices, tick the devices. On a phone: tap the checklist button, then tick devices.

  2. Open the ⋮ menu, then Manage access. On a phone: tap Manage access.

  3. Under Action, pick Grant access or Revoke access.

  4. Pick an Access level: Installer or Read.

  5. Tick members. The number beside each is how many selected devices the change applies to.

  6. Select Grant Installer access (or the matching Revoke or Read button). Keep the dialog open until it finishes.

Who's listed:

  • Grant: members missing that access on at least one selected device. Installer access needs the Installer role. You're never listed.

  • Revoke: members who hold that access on at least one selected device

Devices where a member already has the result you picked are left alone.

Some changes failed? ARC lists each failed change with the reason. Select Retry N changes. If a change could not be confirmed, reload the page to check current access.

Note: Only the access you pick changes. Organization roles and other access stay the same, and no one is invited.

Sign In as an Installer

  1. Find the invite email with your temporary password. Not there? Check spam and junk, and confirm with your Admin which address they used.

  2. Go to arc.emporiaenergy.com and sign in with your email and the temporary password.

  3. Set your own password when asked (15 to 32 characters).

  4. Open Devices to see the devices you can access. Missing one? Ask your Admin to confirm your access and invitation email.

Forgot your password? Select Forgot Password? on the sign-in page.

Invite expired or can't find it? Select Contact Support on the sign-in page.
