Released April 15, 2026
This update introduces three enhancements to the Usage charts in the Emporia app, providing you with greater control over how you filter, explore, and view your energy data.
Improved Filtering
Filter chips now appear at the top of the Usage screen, replacing the previous menu-based controls. You can adjust what you're viewing without leaving the chart.
Available filters:
Live or Past mode — Switch between real-time power data and historical energy data. Live mode shows what's happening right now; Past mode lets you look back over time.
Time window — Choose how much data the chart displays at once (for example, the last hour, day, week, month, or year).
Units — Toggle between kW (power at a given moment) and kWh (energy used over time). The chart updates automatically when you switch.
Chart Drill-Down
You can now tap into your usage data one level at a time to pinpoint exactly when an issue occurred.
How to use it:
Tap any bar in the chart to see the exact value for that time period in a tooltip
Tap the magnifying glass icon to drill one level deeper into that time period
Continue drilling down as needed — the chart goes all the way from Year → Month → Day → Hour → Minute
This is useful for spotting a spike in your energy usage and tracing it back to the exact hour — or even minute — it occurred.
Custom Date Selection
Previously, the Usage chart was limited to preset time windows. You can now use a date picker to view data for any date or time range you choose.
What's new:
Select any custom start and end date or time
The chart resolution automatically adapts to the range you select — a year-long range shows monthly bars, while a single day shows hourly bars
Useful for reviewing a specific billing period, comparing usage around a trip or event, or investigating a particular date
Update Your App
Make sure your app is up to date to access these features. Update through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android), or open the Emporia web app in your browser.
