Many U.S. states and utility providers offer rebates for purchasing and installing a Level 2 EV charger. This article covers how to determine eligibility, what device information you'll need, and which documentation to prepare when applying for a rebate.
Is the Emporia EV Charger Eligible for a Rebate?
Emporia EV Chargers are eligible for rebates through a number of utility providers and state programs across the United States. Because programs vary widely by provider and region, we are unable to confirm eligibility for every program. We recommend contacting your utility provider directly to verify whether the Emporia EV Charger qualifies under their specific program requirements.
Note: Most rebate programs only accept applications for new equipment purchases. Refurbished units are generally not eligible unless explicitly stated by the program.
Model Numbers and Device Information
Rebate applications often require specific device information. Use the following reference when completing your application:
MAC Address
The MAC address is the last 12 digits of the device's serial number. It can be found on the unit itself, on the packaging, or in the Emporia Energy app under Device Settings.
Model Numbers
Model numbers are based on the EV Charger color:
Classic EV Charger
White: EMEVSE1
Black: EMEVSE1-B
Pro EV Charger
White: EMC2-A
Black: EMC2-B
Required Documentation
When applying for a rebate, ensure your receipt or invoice includes the following:
Shipment or purchase date
Model name and model number
Itemized costs including equipment, installation, tax, and shipping
Proof of payment
If your purchase was made through Emporia directly, you can request a receipt or invoice from our support team. For third-party purchases or installer-provided equipment, contact the vendor or installer for documentation.
