Charging History and Reports

Learn how to access your EV charging history in the Emporia app, view monthly calendar and session details, and understand how energy use and costs are calculated.

Updated this week

The Emporia Energy app tracks every charging session and gives you detailed insight into your energy use and costs. This article covers how to access your charging history and understand your session data.

Accessing Your Charging History

You can reach your charging history in three ways:

  • Tap a Monthly EV Charging Report push notification when it arrives

  • Open the Notifications tab and select a Monthly EV Charging Report

  • Tap the charger icon on the Devices or Home screen, then tap the History tile on the control page

Report View

The Report tab gives you a monthly overview of your charging activity. Tap the Report button at the top of the Charging History screen to access it.

  • Charging days are highlighted so you can see your usage patterns across the month

  • Energy consumed and session cost are shown for each day based on your configured rate plan

  • Toggle between kWh and dollar values using the icons on the right side of the screen

  • Your monthly total cost is displayed at the top of the screen

Sessions View

Switch to the Sessions tab at the top of the Charging History screen to see a detailed breakdown of every individual charging event. Each session shows energy consumed, total cost, and duration.

Tapping into a session expands the full event timeline, including when the cable was plugged in, when charging started, how long it ran, when it stopped, and when it was unplugged.

A few things to know about how sessions are recorded:

  • Sessions using less than 0.1 kWh are not saved to minimize unnecessary data

  • Sessions that cross midnight are recorded under the start date, but energy is distributed across days in daily totals

  • Once a session ends, its cost is locked based on your rate at that time and does not change if you update your rate plan later

  • Sessions are grouped by month, with the most recent listed first

  • If the charger was offline during a session, energy data will not be captured for that period
