Released March 16, 2026
Google Nest thermostat integration is now available in the Emporia app. This update also includes EV charger savings reports, home screen customization, and several other improvements to give you more control over your home's energy use.
Nest Thermostat Integration
Your Google Nest thermostat can now be connected to the Emporia app and managed alongside the rest of your home energy setup.
How to connect:
Open the Emporia app and go to Menu → Add a Device → Thermostats → Nest
Follow the prompts to sign in with your Google account
Grant Emporia access to your Google Home devices through Google's secure OAuth flow
Once connected, your thermostat's name and current temperature will appear in the app in real time
What you can do once connected:
Smart Saver — Automatically pre-heats or pre-cools your home during off-peak hours so you're using cheaper electricity when it matters most
Peak Demand Management — If you have a Vue energy monitor, the app can adjust your thermostat automatically to keep your home's energy demand from spiking
Excess Solar Optimization — On high-production days, route surplus solar energy to your thermostat instead of sending it back to the grid
Note: If your Nest is in Eco Hold mode, certain controls will be temporarily unavailable. The app will make this clear when it applies.
