There's a variety of device settings and functionality available in the Emporia app that apply to all hardware device models. These are the settings that can be managed that way:

Settings:

*device* Info (i.e. EV Charger info if an EV Charger device) - when selected, will take you to the device Info page. More details about the Info page are found below.

Schedule (only available on Smart Plugs, EV Charger) - covered in our Energy Management, Schedules article.

Shared With - (article coming soon)

Reset WiFi (Gen 1, Gen 2 will have "Reset WiFi / Solar Setup") - this selection allows you to reset the device and connect it to WiFi. This is the first recommended step if your device is offline. If needing to change your WiFi network, this would also be the place to do so. Gen 1, Gen 2 specific behavior related to WiFi reset and device calibrations can be found here. (LINK TBD)

Clear Data - This option will allow you to delete the measurement data saved for your device. Important to note, clearing data does not fix device related issues - it only removes the saved records from our database for the specified times.

Remove from Account - This option will remove the device from our database and also the connection to your Emporia account. Important to note, removing the device from your Emporia account does not fix device related issues - it only affects the database records saved in the Emporia cloud.

Info:

There will be different options available on the Info page depending on which device type you're looking at in the app. Device specific information is covered on their respective pages, but shared Info details are as follows:
โ€‹

Name, Device Name, Name of *device* - This setting will change the device name shown in a variety of places in the app and is certainly recommended to add, just for clarity in the app. If a name is not set, then the last 6 digits of the device serial will be used in place.

Nest Under - Details about nesting can be found here.

Serial - This is the serial number for the device. Not needed for most operations, but knowing the last 6 digits can be helpful when needing to connect to the device via Bluetooth and other options.

Firmware Version - This will show the current version of firmware saved on the device. Updated version information by device type can be found here. All Emporia devices should check and update their firmware (if available) once per day. If you're noticing that your device is not updating and it is connected to the Emporia cloud, feel free to reach out to our Customer Support team for help.
