Developer Access & Future Integrations

Learn about programmatic access to Emporia device data, community-developed tools, and integration platforms currently under consideration.

Updated yesterday

API access

At this time, Emporia does not offer a public API for programmatic access to device or account data. However, we recognize the demand for this feature and hope to provide an official API in the future.

Community-developed alternatives

Several community open‑source projects provide unofficial ways to interact with Emporia data. These tools are developed and maintained independently from Emporia and are not officially supported.

Examples include:

These projects may be useful for advanced users, but Emporia cannot guarantee their reliability, security, or ongoing compatibility with the Emporia platform.

Unavailable integrations

Emporia is actively expanding integrations, but does not yet support several highly requested platforms. There is currently no published development timeline for these items.

  • Matter

  • Apple HomeKit

  • Nest Thermostats

  • OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol)

  • Home Assistant

  • IFTTT

  • Samsung SmartThings

  • Smart Life

  • Tuya

  • Hubitat

  • Homeseer

Customer requests for these platforms help Emporia prioritize future work, but availability and timing cannot be guaranteed.

Discontinued integrations

SmartCar (electric vehicle integration)

The SmartCar integration for linking supported EVs to the Emporia app has been retired.

  • Existing EVs: Vehicles added to the Emporia app before the SmartCar removal date continue to function and remain accessible.

  • New EVs: Adding new EVs via SmartCar is no longer supported as of the 3.8.0 app release.

  • No impact on Emporia chargers: Emporia EV chargers retain full functionality and can be used normally without SmartCar or in‑app EV connections.

  • EV battery information: Detailed battery status and vehicle‑specific information remain available through each manufacturer’s own app or web portal.

Emporia is exploring improved EV connectivity options and will share updates as new integration paths become available.
