For a general overview of how Notifications work or how to access the settings pages for Notifications, that article can be found here.
(An example of what the Custom Notification page looks like in the app)
Custom Notifications can be setup for any device that provides measurement data except for Smart Plugs. Custom notifications for Smart Plugs will be added at a later date.
Basic Notifications Settings:
โName - Name given to the notification (will show up in the notifications list by this value).
โ
Apply To - Device/circuit selection, which measurement does this notification apply to (can only select one for the time being). For any devices with a single measurement (i.e. EV Charger, Utility Connect, etc...) - then "mains" will always be the selected option. Gen 2 and Gen 1 devices with multiple sensors will have more than one option available in this field.
Usage Threshold:
This is the set of rules applied to the measurement values to determine whether or not a notification should be triggered.
Exceeds/Less than or Equal To - Whether the notification is looking for usage going over the specified amount ("exceeds") or is under/equal to the specified amount ("less than or equal to").
*amount* - in kW values only, not available in Amps/Voltage.
*duration* - how long does the usage have to be above/below for the notification to be triggered. Note, the entire duration/window will have to see the measurement values surpass the specified limitation amount and direction. I.e. if the "minutes" duration is selected, then the entire minute would have to see usage above/below the specified amount to be triggered.
Once the Notification has been saved, then it should show up in your notifications list:
Examples:
I would like a notification when my device measures *any* usage ("turned on"):
- Select the appropriate device/circuit, select Exceeds, .001 kW for 1 second.
I would like a notification when my "Air Conditioner" circuit is running for more than 10 mins ("any usage"):
- Select your Gen 1/Gen 2 device, "Air Conditioner" as circuit, select Exceeds, .001 kW for 10 minutes.
I would like a notification if my "Pump" circuit does not record any usage for more than 2 hours:
- Select your Gen 1/Gen 2 device, "Pump" circuit, Less than or Equal to, 0.001 kW for 2 hours.
