The Vue: Gen 3 will share similar device settings with the other devices on the Emporia platform. Information about managing those features can be found here.
How to get to Settings/Info:
From within the app, you can tap the app menu icon (three bars, upper left corner) and tap on Manage Devices, then select your Vue: Gen 3 by name.
About Available Settings:
A standard Settings page for the Vue: Gen 3 will look like this. Note - all 16x "available" ports/circuits will be shown in this list regardless of how many 50A CT's are plugged into the side ports.
Vue Info will take you to the Vue: Gen 3 Info page (covered below).
Circuit [1-16] will take you to the circuit-specific settings (covered below).
Clear Data and Remove from Account features are covered in our General Device Settings article.
Vue Info:
The Vue: Gen 3 Info page will look like this:
Name of Vue Energy Monitor - the assigned name that will be displayed throughout the app if set. If not set, then the device name will be the last 6 digits of the devices' serial number.
Multiplier for *device name* Mains - Used as a default multiplier for the 200A CT's. Since the Vue 3 monitors voltage directly, this setting is almost never needed to be changed since the Vue 3 will already know if you're on a 120V or 240V system. The text displayed is a hold-over from the original Gen 1 model that had an assumed voltage of 120V. Details about multipliers can be found here.
Serial - The devices' serial number, also printed on the back of the Vue 3 device itself.
Zip Code - not used at the moment, Device Location settings can have an affect however.
Square Footage, Home Type, # of Residents, Heat Source, Air Conditioning, Swimming Pool, Hot Tub, Electric Vehicle - settings that will have additional features added soon.
Firmware Version - will display the current firmware version on-device. If your Vue 3 is not updating its firmware (which should be automatic and OTA within 24 hours of a new version available), feel free to reach out to Customer Support for assistance.
Circuit Settings:
A typical Circuit Settings page will look like this in the app:
Circuit [number] Name - will change the displayed Circuit Name within the app. If left empty, will display the device port number instead.
Circuit Type - A few different ways this can affect the app. First, each circuit type has a dedicated circuit icon that will be displayed within the app. Second, a few specific circuit types will affect measurement and other app behavior:
1.) Solar/Generation - Flags the circuit to show usage as production rather than consumption. We'll be launching a firmware update in the future to allow for this to be detected automatically, but for the moment labeling the circuit type correctly will work great.
2.) Cooktop/Range/Oven/Stove - Will enable the "Oven Left On" default notification to be tied to a circuit by this label type.
