Understanding the Operational Behaviors of the Emporia Energy Charger
The Emporia Energy charger offers flexible and intuitive functionalities for seamless EV charging. This article outlines its behavior regarding charging schedules, automatic readiness, and compliance with vehicle power requests, helping you troubleshoot and optimize your charging experience.
Default Behavior: Schedules and Readiness
The Emporia Energy charger is designed to simplify charging:
No Charging Schedule Set: If no charging schedule is programmed in the app, the charger remains in its current state (either "Ready" or "Paused") indefinitely. It will allow charging whenever it's in the "Ready" state.
Automatic Charging When Plugged In: To enable seamless operation without needing to interact with the app, ensure that no schedule is set, and the charger is not set to "Off" in the app. As long as these conditions are met, the charger will automatically start charging each time it is plugged in.
Power Request Compliance
The Emporia Energy charger is designed to respect the power requirements requested by your vehicle. For instance, if the charger has a maximum setting of 40 amps but your car only requests 32 amps, the charger will adjust its output to meet the car’s request, ensuring safe and efficient charging without exceeding the vehicle’s limits.
Additional Troubleshooting Tips
Always verify the settings in the Emporia Energy app to ensure the charger is in the "Ready" state when you intend to charge your vehicle.
Please make sure that no conflicting schedules are set in case you prefer automatic operation.
