Installation Guide:

Common Questions related to installation:

1.) Will the North American Smart Plug work on a 240V circuit/outlet? No - must be 120V single phase.

2.) Does the Smart Plug need 2.4GHz WiFi network? Yes, will not work on 5.0GHz.

3.) Amperage/current limitations? 15A spike loads, 10A "continuous use" loads. Continuous use is defined as an hour or longer of usage over 10A. The Smart Plugs will turn themselves off if this limitation is exceeded and you'll receive a notification via email (to email address tied to Emporia account) detailing time of when that limitation was passed. Will not work (and is unsafe to do so) on circuits pulling more than 15A.
