Smart Plugs - Limitations

The current model of the Emporia Energy Smart Plug has the following restrictions:

North American Smart Plug
1.) Spike current/amperage limitations of 15A (no usage > 15A).
2.) Continuous use current/amperage limitations of 10A - "continuous use" defined as an hour or longer at > 10A.

3.) Line to neutral voltage of ~120V.

UK Smart Plug
1.) Spike current/amperage limitations of 13A (no usage > 13A).
2.) Continuous use current/amperage limitations of 10A - "continuous use" defined as an hour or longer at > 10A.

3.) Line to neutral voltage of ~240V.

EU Smart Plug
1.) Spike current/amperage limitations of 16A (no usage > 16A).
2.) Continuous use current/amperage limitations of 10A - "continuous use" defined as an hour or longer at > 10A.

3.) Line to neutral voltage of ~240V.

High Load Notification

If you exceed the amperage limitation, you will receive an email notification and the Smart Plug will shut itself down for 24 hours (for safety).

Rated for outdoors?

Emporia Smart Plugs are not rated for outdoor use.
