Quick Mode vs. Hotspot Mode setup options
Updated over a week ago

The Smart Plug has two different setup modes: Quick mode and Hotspot mode. Quick mode is the default mode and usually the easiest method to get the Smart Plugs connected to your WiFi. It will broadcast the WiFi credentials (for the local network) to the Smart Plug in its "blinking" state. If that setup option doesn't work though, Hotspot mode is a good backup option. In that situation your mobile phone or tablet will connect directly to the Smart Plugs' WiFi hotspot (not the one available on your phone/tablet) to establish a direct link to the plug. Once that connection has been made directly to the Smart Plug, the mobile device will then send the local WiFi credentials directly to the Smart Plug to finalize the setup.
