While PowerSmart offers advanced dynamic control for your EV Charger, there are some limitations to be aware of:
Compatible Energy Monitors: Only Vue 3 and Vue 2 energy monitors work with PowerSmart. Vue: Utility Connect and Vue: Gen 1 devices are not supported.
Emporia EV Chargers Only: PowerSmart works exclusively with Emporia Level 2 EV Chargers. Third-party chargers and other appliances are not supported.
6A Minimum Available Power: PowerSmart requires at least 6 amps of available capacity per charger. When managing multiple chargers, each charger needs a minimum of 6 amps allocated to operate. Future updates will enable operation with as low as 0 amps.
Panel-Level Monitoring: PowerSmart monitors and manages based on total electrical panel capacity, not individual circuit breakers. All managed chargers must be on the same electrical panel being monitored by the Vue energy monitor.
PowerSmart Upgrade Required for Each Charger: When using multiple EV Chargers, each charger must have PowerSmart capability or have the PowerSmart upgrade purchased to be managed by the system.
Single Vue Monitor per Panel: While PowerSmart can now manage multiple chargers, it requires a single Vue energy monitor to oversee all chargers on one electrical panel. Multiple panels would require separate Vue monitors and PowerSmart configurations.
