All Emporia devices are designed to be cloud-based at the moment to provide the full feature set of monitoring and control. Given that Load Management is a safety feature requiring accurate measurements of real-time electrical system usage - offline behavior is a key factor to incorporate when trying to understand how Load Management works.

The Vue energy monitor will be tracking your system usage in real-time and once per minute the Emporia system will send a command to the EV Charger to increase or decrease available charge rates depending on the Vue measurements. If the EV Charger stops receiving updates to adjust (either because the EV Charger/Vue are offline, or if the Emporia cloud is unavailable) - then the EV Charger will revert to the "Available Current" setting as part of the Load Management setup. Once the EV Charger/system is back online and running, will go back to automated control as needed.
