To manage this behavior through the app/device, we'll be setting up a custom notification for the EV Charger.
You'll first want to make sure the EV Charger is setup and working correctly, as well as being connected to the internet/Emporia Cloud. Details on the EV Charger setup can be found here if needed.
Now, to setup the notification itself, we'll be setting up a single alert to be triggered whenever usage drops to zero within a minute. Details on how to setup a custom notification within the app can be found here.
The settings for the notification can be as follows:
- Name: whatever you'd like, "EV Charger Stopped" might be a good idea
- Apply To: select your EV Charger by device name, select "Mains" as circuit
Usage Threshold:
- Less than or Equal To
- .001 kW
- for 1 Minute
Once setup (and saved) - then the notification should be triggered whenever we drop below .001kW of charging for an entire minute. This will work great as a "stopped charging" notification since the notification will not be triggered again until charging begins again to reset the threshold. Once the charging has started (and we've gone above .001kW for more than a minute) - the threshold is active again and will be triggered once we drop below .001kW for a minute or longer.
An example of the Custom Alert page for this notification might look like this:
