What happens if the EV Charger or Gen 2 go offline?

All Emporia devices are designed to be cloud-based at the moment to provide the full feature set of monitoring and control. Given that Load Management is a safety feature requiring accurate measurements of real time electrical system usage - offline behavior is a key factor to incorporate when trying to understand how Load Management works.

The Vue: Gen 2 will be tracking your system usage in real-time and once per minute the Emporia system will send a command to the EV Charger to increase or decrease available charge rates depending on the Gen 2 measurements. If the EV Charger stops receiving updates to adjust (either because the EV Charger/Gen 2 are offline, or if the Emporia cloud is unavailable) - then the EV Charger will revert to the "Available Power" setting as part of the Load Management setup. Once the EV Charger/system is back online and running, will go back to automated control as needed.
